Conversations with a 5 yr old.

Me: Justin, are you ready to eat chicken nuggets now?
Justin: Almost. I am thinking.  It will be just 3 more minutes ok?

The topic at preschool today (this was written about a month ago now...) was weather.  Specifically they talked about tornadoes (among other things) which is a topic that Justin has been preoccupied with lately.  So it worked out well.  One of the books they were reading talked about all sorts of sky conditions.  The following is an account of what happened while reading the book.

Teacher:  And this is a picture of Northern Lights.
Justin:  No it isn't.
Teacher:  Yes- see? Right here it says "Northern Lights".  Maybe it just looks different that some of the other pictures you have seen.
Justin:  No- Those are Aurora.

Seriously.  Where does he come up with these things?

On the way to preschool
Justin: Why can't you drink Gasoline?
Me: because it is bad for your body and it will make you really sick.
Justin:  Does it put germs in your body?
Me: No, sometimes things make you sick without putting germs in your body.  They are just bad for your body.
Justin: oh. Like smoking?
Me: Yes
Justin: and alcohol?
Me: Yes
Justin: and lots of meat?

Hysterical! I love seeing the process of thoughts in his mind. Just getting stuff figured out, and sharing what he knows. :D
