You might think, by the name of the place, that this area was filled with impact craters. It isn't. It's filled with basalt from lava flows. (Much like the craters of the moon are filled with basalt from lava flows.... hmmmmm)
I found the place to be fascinating and stunningly beautiful in its desolation. Here is the first set of these images. Between here and Yellowstone I have to choose between about 300 photographs. We'll see how that goes.
At any rate, here are the first few that I have prepared. :) I hope you enjoy them.
